Do You Love Me?

The Bible passage John 21:1-19 provides the basis for Pastor Mark's assertion that the impact of the resurrection is that we, who are followers of Jesus, are now called to serve the purposes of God. If we die with Him, we will be raised with Him. If we are raised with Him, we are to work to reconcile the world to Him. In this passage, Jesus' conversation with Peter is a continuation of their first conversation, where Jesus first called Peter to be His disciple. Jesus is speaking to Peter after he has failed. He had denied Jesus three times. Peter is speaking to the Savior who has triumphed - the resurrected Jesus. Our failure is met by Christ's triumph. Jesus called the very one who failed to be His ambassador. It is in our weakness that Christ chooses to work. Such grace!
